Timed Norinori — Play Norinori Against the Clock
Play Timed Norinori against the clock. Start with 180 seconds on a 4×4 board, then solve random puzzles up to 12×12. Earn size-based bonus time.
How Timed Norinori Works
One Timed Norinori run uses a single clock across many boards. Unused time carries forward, a solved board adds bonus seconds, and the next puzzle loads automatically. Your result is completed boards by size. There is no leaderboard.
Timed Norinori uses the usual Norinori rules.

Start With 180 Seconds
Start Game begins a 180-second countdown on a 4×4 board. At zero the run ends; start again on 4×4. The clock pauses only during the brief completion screen and while the next board loads.
Earn Bonus Time
A fully solved board adds its size-based bonus to the remaining time. You do not get a fresh 180 seconds after every solve. Finish a 4×4 with 70 seconds remaining and the +20s bonus leaves 90 seconds for the next board. Partial coverage earns nothing.
Keep Solving New Boards
The next board loads automatically. After the opening 4×4, each remaining size has an equal chance, so a large board can appear late. Boards do not repeat within a run.
Timed Norinori Bonus Time
Larger boards add more time when you finish them.
| Board size | Time added after solving |
|---|---|
| 4×4 | +20 seconds |
| 6×6 | +45 seconds |
| 8×8 | +90 seconds |
| 10×10 | +150 seconds |
| 12×12 | +240 seconds |

Timed Norinori Strategy
A large board can appear when time is low. Scan two-cell regions and cells next to finished pairs before shading a guess. Practicing those deductions in Unlimited is more useful than rushing a guess.
Hints and Reset do not pause or refill the clock. If you need time to study a position, use an untimed mode instead. The run result counts completed boards by size; it is not a rated difficulty score or a public leaderboard entry. The untimed scan is on Norinori strategy.
Timed Norinori Questions
How are random boards selected?
The first board is always 4×4. After that, each of the five sizes has an equal chance while it has unused puzzles. Boards never repeat within a challenge. The next size does not depend on the time remaining, so a large board can appear late in a run.
When do I receive the bonus seconds?
Only when the entire board is solved correctly before time runs out. Partial boards earn no bonus. The bonus is added once, and unused time carries into the next board.
What happens if I refresh or switch tabs?
The countdown keeps running if you switch tabs, refresh, or close the page. It pauses only while the next board loads. This browser restores the saved board when storage is available; press Start Game to continue. There is no account sync.
Can I skip a board or use the game controls?
You cannot skip boards during a challenge. Undo, reset and hints remain available; using them does not pause or refill the countdown. A hint retains the usual five-second cooldown.
Is Timed Norinori free?
